Gun violence has no place in our community, and itโs deeply disturbing that a place of worship was targeted this morning. I am profoundly grateful to the security officer and Deacon whose heroic actions prevented a major loss of life today.
I will be keeping the entire CrossPointe Church family in my thoughts as they continue to process this tragedy. Iโve been in contact with Mayor Rhaesa and will continue to be available to assist as the investigation continues. ... See MoreSee Less

Senator Darrin Camilleri The Michigan Senate is advancing several bills aimed at restricting firearm ownershipThese measures are part of a broader effort to enhance gun safety in the state. Violating our first amendment rights. Thank God your plans have not advanced or that church would not have been equipped with the protection they needed.
I remember clearly you wanted to take away our gun rights. That "security officer" you mentioned was actually an armed church member. Smart churches ensure that some members are trained and carrying for protection. If you had succeeded in stripping away our right to bear arms, there would have been no one there to stop that shooter. No matter how many gun control laws you pass, criminals will always find a way. All you’re doing is hurting law-abiding communities by taking away our rights.
Common sense says the best way to stop a bad guy with a gun is with a good guy with a gun. Democrats always want to pass new laws to restrict the good guys but it won’t stop the bad guys.
