Tonight, the Michigan Senate passed my legislation, SB700, which would waive any overpayments that UIA is currently attempting to collect from the pandemic. These families did nothing wrong and are being burdened with paperwork and worry over mistakes that the state made. We should give them a clean slate. And EVERY SENATOR from both sides of the aisle voted YES!

Congrats to Wyandotte Clerk Larry Stec on your retirement! After serving many years on council, as Mayor, and then as Clerk again, Wyandotte residents are incredibly grateful for your decades of service to Downriver. I hope you get to enjoy some much deserved rest and relaxation.

Vocational training is so important to our Downriver schools, which is why I’m proud that we secured $5,000,000 towards the Downriver Career Technical Consortium — adding to the $10,000,000 we secured in 2023.

These funds will help them renovate the Trenton Athletic Club building into a new career tech hub for students from Huron Township to Southgate and 7 other local school districts. Thank you to our amazing Superintendents and DCTC staff for everything they do!
