Happy Labor Day! Today, we celebrate the hardworking men and women who keep our state moving forward, while recognizing the progress championed by organized labor. Because of unions, we can enjoy weekends, overtime pay, workplace safety standards, and so much more.

Here in the Michigan Senate, I’m committed to standing with workers and building on this progress. This Memorial Day, we honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness have protected the freedoms we hold dear.

As we gather with family and friends, let us take a moment to reflect on their legacy and express our gratitude — not just today, but every day.

To all who have served and continue to serve: thank you. And to the families of the fallen, our hearts are with you.
