After seven years of perseverance and dedication, the Red Thunder Robotics Team attended the World Championship for the first time in its history. It’s great to have so many talented minds and young people involved in STEM in our community.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Medical Debt Relief\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n This month, we’re proud to announce our successful efforts in tackling medical debt in Michigan. Through securing $4.5 million in the 2024 budget, we’re providing significant relief to individuals across the state. Collaborative action in Ingham County is already underway, leveraging local and state resources to eliminate medical debt. With strategic partnerships, this funding translates to an estimated $450 million in relief for approximately 180,000 Michiganders.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n New \u201cMI Solar for All\u201d Program\u00a0\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n Earlier this week, Governor Whitmer announced that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has awarded the state of Michigan $159 million to lower the cost of community and rooftop solar for thousands of low-income and disadvantaged community households across the state, saving eligible households 20% on their utility bills and providing additional meaningful benefits.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The funding from the Inflation Reduction Act\u2019s (IRA) Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF) will be administered through the newly created MI Solar for All (MI SFA) program.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
