(Feb. 20, 2024) \u2014 The MI Clean Water Plan grants through the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF), the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) and support from the federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) aim to help communities upgrade aging infrastructure, ensure healthy drinking water and protect Michigan\u2019s environment. The City of Inkster, located within Sen. <b>Dayna Polehanki<\/b>&#8216;s (D- Livonia) district, received $10,905,000 to replace Inkster\u2019s water mains.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span>The Michigan Senate, along with the state House, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and federal agencies have ramped up funding for aging water infrastructure \u2014 a critical move to help ensure those water systems continue to protect public health and the environment, including Michigan\u2019s unmatched freshwater resources.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span>\u201cI am thrilled to offer a huge <span data-markjs=\"true\" class=\"mark9if7buyhd uM2yb\">congratulations<\/span> to Mayor Nolen and Inkster Public Works for applying for and winning a $10,905,000 State of Michigan grant from President Biden\u2019s American Rescue Plan to replace Inkster\u2019s broken and deteriorating water mains. This remarkable achievement marks a pivotal moment in addressing the critical need to replace Inkster&#8217;s aging and faulty water mains. It&#8217;s partnerships like these that showcase the power of collaboration between our state government and local communities \u2014 demonstrating our collective commitment to enhancing the quality of life for all Michiganders.
