{"id":5143,"date":"2019-08-23T14:34:35","date_gmt":"2019-08-23T14:34:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/senatedems.com\/polehanki\/?p=5143"},"modified":"2019-08-23T14:34:35","modified_gmt":"2019-08-23T14:34:35","slug":"local-legislators-on-preliminary-testing-results-at-arbor-hills-landfill","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.senatedems.com\/polehanki\/2019\/08\/23\/local-legislators-on-preliminary-testing-results-at-arbor-hills-landfill\/","title":{"rendered":"Local legislators on preliminary testing results at Arbor Hills Landfill"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;NORTHVILLE TOWNSHIP \u2014 Sen. <strong>Dayna Polehanki <\/strong>(D\u2013Livonia) and Rep. <strong>Matt Koleszar <\/strong>(D\u2013Plymouth) today issued a joint statement on the Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy\u2019s (EGLE) preliminary air quality results from perimeter testing near the Arbor Hills Landfill.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.michigan.gov\/documents\/egle\/egle-tou-ArborHills-ActionSummary_662309_7.pdf\">To date, offsite testing by EGLE has not produced results above or approaching EGLE\u2019S hydrogen sulfide health standard of .1 parts per million.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe initial results are encouraging. We will continue to work with the department so that the public is well informed about the health and safety of our community,&#8221; Rep. Koleszar said. \u201cResidents deserve to trust the air they breathe.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cParents sending their kids back to school want to know their families are safe breathing in the air on our playgrounds and in our neighborhoods. We worked with EGLE to ensure extensive air testing this past summer,\u201d Sen. Polehanki said. \u201cRep. Koleszar and I will not rest until we know our residents are protected.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">EGLE\u2019s Air Quality Division will continue to update the public as more information is available.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Sen. Polehanki represents the 7th Senate District in Wayne County, which includes the cities of Livonia, Northville, Plymouth and Wayne, and the townships of Canton, Northville and Plymouth.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Rep.
