Thank you to Education Commission of the States for sponsoring my attendance at your winter conference in Orlando.
Thanks also to my Senate Majority Leader Winnie Brinks for nominating me to serve as Michigan’s Legislative Commissioner alongside Governor Whitmer and three other commissioners.

Regarding the large data center project in Saline Township and any future data centers built in our state, the developers of these sites must follow our new law stipulating that data centers pay for the full cost of their operations, go above and beyond standards for energy efficiency and water conservation, and ensure that rate payers are not on the hook should the project fail to launch or close abruptly.
To protect Michiganders, it’s important that we are able to verify all assumptions and assurances that go into large scale projects like data centers.

*a contested hearing would include additional hearings beyond the one listed below
The Michigan Public Service Commission will hold a short hearing on Wednesday, Dec. 3, between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. on Microsoft Teams (find link in article).
Participants can join through the meeting’s Microsoft Teams link or by dialing 1-248-509-0316 and entering the conference ID 593258092# when prompted. ... See MoreSee Less
