On Republican House Speaker Matt Hall’s chopping block for my community are building renovations to open a new branch of the Kids-TALK Children’s Advocacy Center.
Kids-TALK serves children through 17 years, and their non-offending family members, who have been the victims of child abuse, neglect, or have witnessed violent crimes.
Kids-TALK’s comprehensive services include forensic interviewing, child and family advocacy, emotional support, specialized medical evaluations, trauma-informed, and evidence-based therapy.Yesterday, House Republicans abruptly canceled nearly $645 million in funding for critical state projects and community programs in a backroom deal.
