On Republican House Speaker Matt Hall’s chopping block for my community are building renovations to open a new branch of the Kids-TALK Children’s Advocacy Center.

Kids-TALK serves children through 17 years, and their non-offending family members, who have been the victims of child abuse, neglect, or have witnessed violent crimes.

Kids-TALK’s comprehensive services include forensic interviewing, child and family advocacy, emotional support, specialized medical evaluations, trauma-informed, and evidence-based therapy.Yesterday, House Republicans abruptly canceled nearly $645 million in funding for critical state projects and community programs in a backroom deal. This holiday season, Matt Hall and his caucus are slashing funding for new moms, kids with cancer, fighting the opioid crisis, and crucial projects in every corner of the state.
