Through the new Reclaim the Rivers initiative, Michigan is investing $89 million to clean up contamination, restore fish and wildlife habitat, and expand public access to waterways across the state.
The effort includes major investments in the Detroit and Kalamazoo rivers, along with restoration projects in communities statewide. Clean rivers support recreation, local economies, and quality of life. By addressing longstanding contamination and restoring these waterways, we're investing in a healthier future for Michigan communities.

Every worker deserves fair pay for the work they do. Yet, Latinas continue to face one of the largest pay gaps in the workforce, earning an average of 53 cents for every dollar paid to white, non-Hispanic men.
When workers are paid fairly, families are stronger, communities thrive, and our economy works better for everyone.

Michigan farmers work hard—they deserve stability and fair market access.
Instead, the Trump administration’s tariffs are raising equipment and supply costs, while Canada’s retaliatory tariffs threaten agricultural sales. Michigan exports of wheat, cherries, apples, and soybean meal have already suffered major declines. Farmers should not be expected to absorb even more uncertainty and higher costs because of an escalating trade war.
