(June 24, 2022) \u2014 Today, Sen.&nbsp;<strong>Sean McCann<\/strong>&nbsp;(D-Kalamazoo) issued the following statement regarding the U.S. Supreme Court\u2019s decision in the abortion rights case of&nbsp;<em>Dobbs v. Jackson Women\u2019s Health Organization<\/em>:<br \/><br \/>\u201cThe decision of when or if to have kids is not an easy one, especially with so much going on in the world culturally, politically, and economically. It is appalling that the highest Court in the land \u2014 whose opinion on this matter doesn\u2019t reflect most of this nation, no less \u2014 has decided to strip this constitutional right from the American people. Such a decision has, and should continue to be, made by the pregnant individual, their health care provider, and those they love \u2014 without interference by a government institution.<br \/><br \/>\u201cThis opinion is a call to action. We have seen nationally how far those who oppose the freedom to decide will go, and we cannot let up in Michigan.
