They are required to cover 8 free over-the-counter at-home tests per individual per month. Once you pre-register, you will be directed to schedule a time\/date for your test.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”Advanced Child Tax Credit ” _builder_version=”4.19.2″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” open=”off”]<\/p>\n Earlier this year, President Biden signed the American Rescue Plan into law, which significantly expanded the Child Tax Credit.<\/p>\n The expanded CTC allows 17-year-olds to qualify, increases the credit to $3,000 dollars per child ($3,600 for children under age 6), and distributes the benefit monthly. This breaks out to $250 a month for those from ages 6-17, and $300 a month for children under the age of 6.<\/p>\n Almost every household with a child under age 18 qualifies for the expanded tax credit. More information about the specifics can be found at the link\u202fhere<\/a>.<\/p>\n You can choose whether to receive the payment monthly, or in one lump sum after filing your 2022 taxes, using the IRS portal linked\u202fhere<\/a>. If you opt to receive the payment monthly (which is also the default if you do nothing), you should start receiving it by direct deposit or paper check directly from the IRS.<\/p>\n Access to quality and affordable childcare continues to be a large issue for many Washtenaw county families. While I recently supported the $1.4 billion investment in childcare in our state budget, I have included some resources below for families who need more immediate help:<\/p>\n Child Development and Care (CDC) through MiBridges:<\/strong>\u00a0 The Child Development and Care Program, which you can access by registering for MiBridges at the link above, may be able to provide payment assistance for childcare needs.
