A Republican candidate for Governor of Michigan put out an advertisement that is disgusting and juvenile.
Many people are commenting on the violent and threatening tone of the ad. I agree that the campaign ad is an example of how politicians contribute to the violence and threats of violence that have become commonplace since the rise of Trump.
What frustrates me more is the lying and misinformation. Even with a disclaimer acknowledging that the ad is created with AI, using deep fakes to depict another person saying something they did not say is wrong. It is lying and it is unethical behavior. I hope against all rationality that voters punish politicians and political parties who lie and peddle misinformation.
