Smoky the firehouse dog and I were just thrilled to help break ground at the Grand Rapids Fire Department’s new state of the art training facility! I am so proud to have helped secure funding for this project, and I'm always working in Lansing to bring home more investments that support our first responders. 🚒
As the only facility of its class in Michigan, our first responders will soon have 10,000 square feet to train both indoors and outdoors in live fire situations. They’ll learn technical and emergency rescue skills that will help prepare them to save lives. Students from our universities and career training programs will be exposed to pathways to an amazing career. In short, this will be a crown jewel of training for the whole Midwest.
