You are probably eligible for more financial aid than you realize, and it is encouraged you fill out your FAFSA as soon as possible!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><b>Meijer Recalls Select Premade Salads Due to Potential Health Risk\u00a0<\/b><\/span><span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Meijer, in conjunction with its supplier, Revolution Farms, is announcing a voluntary recall of select\u00a0<i>Fresh From Meijer<\/i>\u00a0premade salads because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Listeria monocytogenes is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The recalled premade salads have a\u00a0<i>Fresh From Meijer<\/i>\u00a0sticker on a clear plastic container. Customers with questions or concerns about their health are encouraged to contact their primary care provider.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><b>Helping Medicaid members keep their coverage\u00a0<\/b><\/span><span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><i>Take action to avoid a gap in coverage\u00a0<\/i><\/span><span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the federal government declared a Public Health Emergency (PHE), allowing Medicaid members to keep their health care coverage. Per recent federal legislation, eligibility renewals will start again in June. Monthly renewal notifications will be sent by mail beginning in May.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><span>Following these steps will help determine if you still qualify:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li><span>Make sure your contact information is up to date.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Check mail or text messages for a letter.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Complete your renewal form (if you get one).\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span>If you\u2019re a Medicaid member, learn more about how these changes may affect your health care coverage at\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.michigan.gov\/mdhhs\/end-phe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-safelink=\"true\" data-linkindex=\"6\"><span>Michigan.gov\/2023benefitchanges<\/span><span><\/span><\/a><span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span><b><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><b><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><b>Changing Health Insurance can impact Auto Insurance\u00a0<\/b><\/span><span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Your auto insurance may not be the first thing that comes to mind if you lose or change your health insurance, but there is an important connection that every Michigander should know about.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Under Michigan\u2019s auto insurance law, drivers can choose from six different Personal Injury Protection (PIP) medical coverage levels when they buy or renew their auto insurance, which covers medical bills and other expenses if you are injured in an auto accident. For people who have Qualified Health Coverage (QHC), two options allow you to remove PIP medical coverage for yourself and\/or eligible household members.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>To count as QHC, your health insurance policy must not exclude or limit coverage for auto accident injuries and must have an individual deductible of $6,000 or less. Medicare Parts A and B or Medicare Advantage also count as QHC, but please note VA Health Benefits do not count as QHC.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><span>If someone in your household does not have PIP medical coverage and has a change in their health insurance, you must ACT:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li><span>A \u2013 Ask your auto insurance company or agent about your PIP medical coverage choice and find out if you need QHC to maintain your current selection.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>C \u2013 Contact your health insurer to determine if your new policy counts as QHC and to get an updated QHC letter.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>T \u2013Tell your auto insurance company immediately if you lose your QHC.
