At the same site, they can track their absentee ballot to ensure it was received. All absentee ballot return envelopes must be signed by the voter with a signature matching the signature the clerk has with their voter registration. Ballots must be received by clerks by 8 p.m. on Election Day to be counted.<\/p>\n<p>Eligible Michiganders who still need to register to vote must now do so in person at their clerk&#8217;s office, as online and mail registration is not permitted within 14 days of an election. Those registering in person may request, complete and submit an absentee ballot in the same visit to their clerk\u2019s office.<\/p>\n<p>Citizens can also vote in person at their polling place on Election Day, Nov. 8. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Election Day.<\/p>\n<p>Additional information about absentee and in-person voting in Michigan is available at<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/action.meicigama.com\/actionctrl\/click\/635a8aa9d768d2a7668b5314\/62587e16d768d2dd2d8b59d6?url=https:\/\/mvic.sos.state.mi.us\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/action.meicigama.com\/actionctrl\/click\/635a8aa9d768d2a7668b5314\/62587e16d768d2dd2d8b59d6?url%3Dhttps:\/\/mvic.sos.state.mi.us\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1673017451112000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0x6KxawM7ZXFNoSQm_z4pI\" rel=\"noopener\">Michigan.gov\/Vote<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>ONLINE APPLICATION FOR STUDENT DEBT RELIEF NOW OPEN<\/b><\/p>\n<p>On Monday, Oct. 17, the Biden-Harris Administration announced that millions of working- and middle-class borrowers can apply for student debt relief right NOW at<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/action.meicigama.com\/actionctrl\/click\/635a8aa9d768d2a7668b5314\/62587e16d768d2dd2d8b59d6?url=https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/debt-relief\/application\" target=\"_blank\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/action.meicigama.com\/actionctrl\/click\/635a8aa9d768d2a7668b5314\/62587e16d768d2dd2d8b59d6?url%3Dhttps:\/\/studentaid.gov\/debt-relief\/application&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1673017451112000&amp;usg=AOvVaw3YOYVvo4SG_WurKZzLjM50\" rel=\"noopener\">studentaid.gov\/debtrelief\/<wbr \/>apply<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The application takes less than 5 minutes. It\u2019s available in English and Spanish on desktop and mobile devices. And you don\u2019t need to log in with an FSA ID or to upload any documents to apply.<\/p>\n<p>The Administration\u2019s plan will provide up to $10,000 in relief to borrowers with federal student loans and up to $20,000 in relief to borrowers who were Pell Grant recipients. Borrowers are eligible for this relief if their individual income is less than $125,000 or $250,000 for households.<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/action.meicigama.com\/actionctrl\/click\/635a8aa9d768d2a7668b5314\/62587e16d768d2dd2d8b59d6?url=https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/manage-loans\/forgiveness-cancellation\/debt-relief-info\" target=\"_blank\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/action.meicigama.com\/actionctrl\/click\/635a8aa9d768d2a7668b5314\/62587e16d768d2dd2d8b59d6?url%3Dhttps:\/\/studentaid.gov\/manage-loans\/forgiveness-cancellation\/debt-relief-info&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1673017451112000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1wcyS0qgd4hAN79ISdFwYV\" rel=\"noopener\">The application for relief is available here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>The previously announced limited Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program waiver is still in effect until Oct. 31, 2022. If your waiver application is approved, the PSLF waiver would forgive the remaining balance on your federal student loans after 120 payments working full-time for federal, state, Tribal, or local government; military; or a qualifying nonprofit. The limited PSLF waiver allows borrowers to receive credit for past periods of repayment that would otherwise not qualify for PSLF. Do not provide your personal or financial information in response to unsolicited emails, phone calls, or texts either purportedly from the federal government or a company claiming to be able to assist you with obtaining the announced relief.<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t agree to pay anyone for assistance in obtaining debt relief.<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t be rushed. To get you to act fast, scammers say you could miss qualifying for repayment plans, loan consolidation, or loan forgiveness programs if you don\u2019t sign up right away. Take your time and check it out.<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t give away your FSA ID. Some scammers claim they need your FSA ID to help you, but don\u2019t share your FSA ID with anyone. Dishonest people could use that information to get into your account and steal your identity.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Those who wish to make a report about potential scams can do so with the Attorney General\u2019s Consumer Protection team by<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/action.meicigama.com\/actionctrl\/click\/635a8aa9d768d2a7668b5314\/62587e16d768d2dd2d8b59d6?url=https:\/\/www.michigan.gov\/ag\/complaints\" target=\"_blank\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/action.meicigama.com\/actionctrl\/click\/635a8aa9d768d2a7668b5314\/62587e16d768d2dd2d8b59d6?url%3Dhttps:\/\/www.michigan.gov\/ag\/complaints&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1673017451112000&amp;usg=AOvVaw24wkjI-JyPVIGB2khdUVkE\" rel=\"noopener\">filing a complaint online<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>or by calling 877-765-8388.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>FALL FIRE TIPS<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Pull your boots and flannels out of the closet \u2014 it\u2019s campfire season! Just be sure to brush up on burning tips from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources before lighting that brush pile in the backyard.<\/p>\n<p><b><i>Burn safely<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Whenever you burn, have a shovel and water source nearby, and never leave a fire unattended. Avoid burning on a windy day when hot embers can be whisked up by the wind into dry grasses or leaves.<\/p>\n<p>Burning yard waste? Remember to check for a burn permit to see if conditions are safe for burning and know your local fire ordinances. Most wildfires are started by people burning yard clippings and leaves. You\u2019ll need a burn permit any time the ground is not covered in snow.<\/p>\n<p>Upper Peninsula and northern Lower Peninsula residents can view conditions at<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/action.meicigama.com\/actionctrl\/click\/635a8aa9d768d2a7668b5314\/62587e16d768d2dd2d8b59d6?url=https:\/\/www.michigan.gov\/dnr\/managing-resources\/forestry\/fire\/burn-permit\" target=\"_blank\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/action.meicigama.com\/actionctrl\/click\/635a8aa9d768d2a7668b5314\/62587e16d768d2dd2d8b59d6?url%3Dhttps:\/\/www.michigan.gov\/dnr\/managing-resources\/forestry\/fire\/burn-permit&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1673017451113000&amp;usg=AOvVaw07roO1nBuCBWBj8geMr3YQ\" rel=\"noopener\">Michigan.gov\/BurnPermit<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>or call 866-922-BURN for information. No fire required! Dead leaves are a great free mulch that will insulate perennial plants and keep garden soil from washing away in the rain. They can also be raked up into a bin or piled to turn into nutrient-rich compost.
