{"id":5978,"date":"2020-10-21T16:17:31","date_gmt":"2020-10-21T16:17:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/senatedems.com\/bayer\/?p=5978"},"modified":"2020-10-21T16:17:31","modified_gmt":"2020-10-21T16:17:31","slug":"senator-bayer-introduces-bill-requiring-pfas-labeling-on-products","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.senatedems.com\/bayer\/2020\/10\/21\/senator-bayer-introduces-bill-requiring-pfas-labeling-on-products\/","title":{"rendered":"Senator Bayer Introduces Bill Requiring PFAS Labeling on Products"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>LANSING, Mich. \u2014 Sen.&nbsp;<strong>Rosemary Bayer<\/strong>&nbsp;(D-Beverly Hills) has introduced legislation to protect Michigan consumers by requiring manufacturers to list per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS, as active and hazardous ingredients in any product they are in.<br \/><br \/>Senate Bill 1208 would ensure that any product or packaging containing PFAS is labeled as such by the manufacturer, or, if the product is not labeled, that a retailer posts a sign indicating the product contains PFAS.<br \/><br \/>\u201cMichiganders have become all too familiar with the role PFAS has played in the degradation of our environment,\u201d Sen. Bayer said. \u201cThis legislation is a logical next step in our fight to combat these toxic \u2018forever chemicals\u2019 in all its forms.
