Gretchen Whitmer\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.michigan.gov\/whitmer\/0,9309,7-387-90499_90705-524032--,00.html\">Executive Order 2020-35<\/a>, which suspends face-to-face learning at K-12 schools for the remainder of the school year but ensures that learning will continue by setting guidelines for remote learning:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cGovernor Whitmer\u2019s action today demonstrates the bold leadership we need in this time of crisis. While remote learning is not optimal, I support this difficult decision because it puts the health and safety of our students, teachers, staff and families first.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn the coming weeks, I will work with fellow legislators and the governor\u2019s office to ensure each district is providing an appropriate alternative learning path for their students, including trying to address the inequities in Michigan\u2019s public education system.
