I've said it before and I'll say it again: budgets are moral documents — a statement of our values and priorities.

We passed our budgets out of the Senate over a month ago because we understand that our people, schools, nonprofits, and local governments deserve reliable, sustainable funding. I want you to know that we're still here putting in the hours, working hard to get a budget done that invests in the people, places, and programs that make our state extraordinary.

We passed our budgets out of the Senate over a month ago because we understand that our people, schools, nonprofits, and local governments deserve reliable, sustainable funding.  I want you to know that were still here putting in the hours, working hard to get a budget done that invests in the people, places, and programs that make our state extraordinary.

We’re introducing bills to protect Michiganders from the crushing weight of medical debt.

No one should be pushed into poverty just for getting the care they need. This is about dignity, transparency, and real relief.

Today, I proudly voted YES on Senate Resolution 64 to stand up for Michigan families and working people. This resolution sends a clear message: we will not sit silently while federal proposals threaten to gut Medicaid, SNAP, and WIC. We’re fighting back against policies that reward the wealthy while raising costs for everyone else.

Michigan deserves better.
